Have you ever been to a yoga class and wondered what on earth the teacher meant by “melt into the mat”, or how you were expected to “breath into your hips”? Learn yoga with accessible instruction, without the jargon.
Yoga can be an incredible tool for both physical and mental health, but I don’t believe claims that certain poses burn fat or will help you achieve the ever-illusive beach body; this is not what yoga is about. Learn to love (or at least not hate) your body through movement, without worrying about the number on the scales.
Gone are the days of blindly following a sequence because “the teacher told me to do it”. In my classes, I encourage you to be discerning, ask “why?”. Every element of class should have a clear purpose, whether it be to bring awareness to an area of the body, or to increase strength or mobility.
